Day by Day

Day 1

Overnight: Seville

The tour coordinator will greet everyone and we will review the program schedule, emergency procedures and answer questions. After orientation we’ll set out with our tour coordinator and take a walk to explore the area around the hotel.

At a restaurant, we´ll enjoy a welcome dinner with a delicious set menu.

Day 2

Overnight: Seville

After breakfast we will walk to Alandis Travel headquarters, an 19th century old mansion, where we will be joined by an expert who will give us a presentation on the origins and history of the Silver Route. Then, we will meet a local expert who will lead us inside the Cathedral, one of the world´s largest and most packed with historic treasures and art.

In the afternoon, we will meet a local expert who will accompany us to the extraordinary Alcazar Royal Palace and lead us through this UNESCO World Heritage Site. Next, we will walk around Seville’s oldest neighborhood and former Jewish quarter, the “Barrio of Santa Cruz”.

Day 3

Overnight: Seville

After breakfast we will meet with a local expert for a guided walk in the MªLuisa Park and Plaza de España. Mª Luisa Park is Seville’s principal green area, and it was part of the private gardens of the San Telmo palace. Plaza de España was designed by architect Aníbal González between 1918 and 1929 for the Ibero-American Exposition and it is also part of the park.

After the visit, we will have the rest of the day free to explore the city, your tour coordinator will be happy to offer suggestions.

Day 4

Overnight: Cáceres

Breakfast at hotel. After check-out, we’ll take a private bus transfer to Cáceres. En route, we will stop in Mérida, where we will meet a local expert who will accompany us through the Roman Ruins and the Roman Art Museum. During these visits we will learn more about Roman culture and the history of the Peninsula. Afterwards, we will have lunch at a local restaurant. Then, we will continue our transfer to Cáceres. 

After checking in at the hotel and settling into our rooms, we will meet with a local expert for a walk to discover more about this UNESCO Heritage Site.

Day 5

Overnight: Salamanca

Breakfast at hotel. After check-out, we will be transferred by private bus to Salamanca. En route, we will stop in Zamora, where we will meet a local expert for a walking tour through the Romanesque and Modernist city of Zamora. Then, we will walk to a local restaurant to enjoy a delicious set menu.

After lunch, on our way to Salamanca, we will stop at a winery, where we will be given the opportunity to learn about and taste the flavors of the region. After the visit, we will continue to Salamanca with expected arrival in the late afternoon. After checking in at the hotel and settling into our rooms, we will meet a local expert who will take us on a fantastic walk to discover the hidden corners and historical buildings of this Unesco Heritage Site.

Day 6

Overnight: Salamanca

After breakfast we will meet a local guide for an expert-lead visit to the New Cathedral and the University of Salamanca. The New Cathedral is one of Salamanca’s two cathedrals and was built between the 16th and 18th centuries with late Gothic and Baroque architectural styles. The University of Salamanca was founded by Alfonso IX in 1218 and it is the oldest university in Spain.

Afterwards, we will have the rest of the day free to explore the city and our tour coordinator will be happy to offer suggestions.

Day 7

Overnight: Gijon

Breakfast at hotel. After check-out, we will begin our transfer by private bus to Gijon. En route, we will stop in León to enjoy an expert-led visit of the Cathedral, best known for its impressive stained-glass windows. It was built between 1205 and 1301 and it is a masterwork example of the Gothic style in Spain. Then we will have lunch at a nearby restaurant. After lunch we will continue to Gijon with expected arrival late afternoon.

After checking in at the hotel and settling into our rooms, we will have an orientation walk around the hotel.

Day 8

Overnight: Gijon

After breakfast, a local expert will join us for a walking tour through Gijon. Along the walk, we will pass by Don Pelayo’s statue, Cimadevilla neighborhood, and Jovellanos’s birthplace, among other sites. Afterwards, we will depart by private bus for a visit to a Cider factory where we will learn more about this beverage, symbol of the Asturian identity, and enjoy a tasting session.

Then, we will return to Gijon, where we will have some free time to explore the city, for which our tour coordinator will be happy to offer suggestions.

Day 9

Overnight: Gijon

After breakfast we will set out with a local expert for a day trip to Picos of Europa National Park. Our first stop will be at Covadonga lakes, where we will enjoy the views of this impressive natural environment. Then, we will continue to the Holy Cave of Covadonga to see the image of La Santina and the remains of Don Pelayo, founder of the kingdom of Asturias in the 8th century. After learning more about the history and importance of this place, we will depart for a visit to Cangas de Onís, where we will have free time to explore and have lunch. 

In the afternoon, we will return to Gijon to pack and a delicious farewell dinner.

Day 10

Breakfast at hotel. Transfer to the airport at a designated time.

Itálica

Discover the Roman ruins of Itálica, just outside Seville. This city was founded in 206 BC and was the birthplace of the emperors Trajano and Adriano. An expert will lead our walk through its ancient streets where we will discover well-preserved mosaics, the ancient major baths and its famous amphitheater, which was one of the locations of the Game of Thrones series.
