Day by Day

Day 1

Overnight: Bilbao

The tour coordinator will greet everyone and we will review the program schedule, emergency procedures and answer questions. After orientation we will set out with our tour coordinator to take a walk and explore the area around the hotel. At a restaurant, we´ll enjoy a welcome dinner with a delicious set menu.

Day 2

Overnight: Bilbao

After breakfast we will enjoy a panoramic bus tour through Bilbao’s historic center and visit sites such as the Plaza Moyua, Jardines de Albia and Teatro Arriaga among others. Afterwards, we will spend some time at the Guggenheim Museum, one of the most admired works of contemporary architecture, designed by Canadian American architect Frank Gehry.

In the afternoon we will have free time to explore the city, your tour coordinator will be happy to offer suggestions.

Day 3

Overnight: Bilbao

After breakfast an expert will join us to give a presentation on the history of Spain and its unique and diverse geography through the lens of its cuisine, from region to region. Then, we will walk to a cooking class where we will learn how to prepare some traditional Basque dishes.

After enjoying the meal we cooked, we will have a free afternoon to explore independently.

Day 4

Overnight: Madrid

Breakfast at hotel. After checkout, we will be transferred by a private bus to Madrid. On route, we will stop at Marqués de Riscal winery, whose building was designed by architect Frank Gehry, and we will enjoy an expert led visit and a wine tasting session. Then, we will continue to Madrid and we expect to arrive late afternoon.

After checking in at the hotel and settling into your room we will have an orientation walk followed by dinner at a restaurant where we will enjoy a delicious set menu. 

Day 5

Overnight: Madrid

After breakfast with a local expert, we will enjoy a panoramic bus tour through Madrid. Then, we will have an on-site art history class with the same local expert at the Prado Museum. The Prado National Museum is one of the world’s leading galleries with a superb collection from the 12th century to the early 19th century. Among the masterpieces are works by Bosch, El Greco, Goya, Raphael, Rubens, Titian, Van Eyck, Velázquez, and many more. The Prado has become a prized destination for art lovers.

After we will have free time to explore the city, your tour coordinator will be happy to offer suggestions.  

Day 6

Overnight: Madrid

After breakfast we will have a presentation on Spain´s contemporary history. After the presentation, we will take a private bus to a hands-on cooking class led by a local chef where we will learn how to cook some traditional dishes from the region of Madrid.

After enjoying the meal we cooked, we will have a free afternoon to explore independently. 

Day 7

Overnight: Seville

Breakfast at hotel. After check-out we will be transferred by a private bus to Madrid´s train station where we will take the high-speed train to Seville which takes just 2:45 hours. Then we will be transferred by a private bus to the hotel. After checking in at the hotel and settling into your room we will have an orientation walk.

In the afternoon, we will walk to Alandis Travel headquarters, an 18th century old mansion, and we will participate in a lively discussion with an expert in sociology on Immigration and Farming.

Day 8

Overnight: Seville

After breakfast we will leave the hotel in a private bus to spend the morning visiting a working Olive Oil Mill. An expert will give a lecture on the production of the golden liquid of Spain and we will have an olive oil tasting session. Then we will return to Seville to have some free time.

In the afternoon we will meet with a local expert who will lead us inside the Cathedral of Seville, one of the world´s largest cathedrals, enriched with historical treasures and art. Afterwards we will walk to a local “tablao” for a special flamenco music and dance show.  

Day 9

Overnight: Seville

After breakfast we will depart for a walk to the extraordinary Alcázar Royal Palace and meet a local expert who will guide us through this UNESCO World Heritage Site. Afterwards, we will depart by private bus to have a hands-on cooking class led by a local chef. We will learn about and cook the most popular traditional Spanish dish: Paella. 

After enjoying the meal we cooked we will have a free afternoon to pack, explore or just relax. 

Day 10

Breakfast at hotel. Transfer to the airport at a designated time.

Day Trip to Ronda

Discover this wonderful white village located in the Serranía de Ronda. Once we arrive we will meet an expert who will guide us on our walk through the village. During the walk we will learn about the unique role that Ronda played during the Spanish Civil War. After the walk, we will visit the oldest bullring in Spain accompanied by the same expert. Then we will enjoy a delicious lunch at a local restaurant. Afterwards we will return to Seville.

Day Trip to Córdoba

Córdoba, the crossroads of civilizations and mainstay of Islamic and Jewish heritage in Spain. You will enjoy an expert-led exploration of the Great Mosque and Cathedral. Next, you will take a stroll through the Judería, which was once Córdoba’s Jewish Quarter, and visit one of the last-standing ancient synagogues in Spain. Then, you will enjoy some free time to explore.

Discover the Roman ruins of Itálica, just outside Seville. This city was founded in 206 BC and was the birthplace of the emperors Trajano and Adriano. An expert will lead our walk through its ancient streets where we will discover well-preserved mosaics, the ancient major baths and its famous amphitheater, which was one of the locations of the Game of Thrones series.

Royal Botanic Garden of Madrid

Enjoy the calmness of nature in the very heart of Madrid. An expert will introduce us to the knowledge of botanical science and guide us through more than two centuries of history, helping us to have a greater understanding of the garden.

Sorolla Museum

Discover the last home and workshop where the well known Valencian impressionist painter lived. A local expert will lead us throughout the workshop and the rooms of the house while admiring his most outstanding works.
