Day by Day

Day 1

Overnight: Seville

The tour coordinator will greet everyone and we will review the program schedule, emergency procedures and answer questions. After orientation, we will set out with our tour coordinator to take a walk and explore the area around the hotel. At a restaurant, we will enjoy a welcome dinner with a delicious set menu.

Day 2

Overnight: Seville

Breakfast at hotel. We will walk to Alandis Travel headquarters, an 19th century old mansion, where we will be joined by a local expert on Spanish culture who will give us a presentation on the three cultures of Al-Andalus: Jewish, Christian, and Muslim. Afterwards, we will meet with a local expert who will lead us inside one of the world´s largest Cathedral, enriched with historical treasures and art.

In the afternoon, we will walk to Alandis Travel headquarters, where an expert will introduce us to the Art of Flamenco. Then, we will walk to a local “tablao” for a special flamenco music and dance show.  

Day 3

Overnight: Seville

Breakfast at hotel. We will depart for a walk with our Tour Coordinator to the extraordinary Alcazar Royal Palace, where we will meet a local expert who will lead us through this UNESCO World Heritage Site. Afterwards, we will enjoy a hands-on cooking class led by a local chef. We will learn about and cook the most popular traditional Spanish dish: Paella. After enjoying the meal we cooked, we will have free time and our tour coordinator will be happy to offer suggestions on how to spend it.

Day 4

Overnight: Grazalema

Breakfast at hotel. After check-out, we will begin our transfer by private bus to Grazalema. On route, we will stop at an 18th-century olive oil mill, where the owner will lead a lecture about the production of Spain’s golden liquid during an olive oil tasting session. Afterwards, at the Olive Oil Mill Hacienda, we will enjoy a delicious set menu.

After lunch, on our way to Grazalema, we will stop to take part in a Cheese-Making workshop, where we will be cooperate in the process led by the cheese factory owner. Then, we will continue to Grazalema, expecting to arrive in the late afternoon. After checking in at the hotel and settling into our rooms, we will have an orientation walk of the area around the hotel.

Day 5

Overnight: Grazalema

Breakfast at hotel. We will set out with a local expert for a day trip to Ronda. Upon arrival, we will visit the oldest bullring in Spain and the three main bridges that cross the famous gorge, under the guidance of a local expert. During the walk we will also learn about the unique role Ronda played during Spain’s Civil War.

In the afternoon, after enjoying some short free time in Ronda, we will return to Grazalema.

Day 6

Overnight:Vejer

Breakfast at hotel. Once we check out of the hotel, we will begin our transfer by private bus to Vejer, but first we will join a local expert for a light hike in Sierra de Grazalema Natural Park (2,500 feet altitude), which was declared a biosphere reserve in 1977. Then, we will continue our transfer to Vejer, arriving approximately late in the morning. After checking in at the hotel and settling into our rooms, we will have an orientation walk followed by lunch at a local restaurant where we will enjoy a delicious set menu.

After lunch, we will have a free afternoon to explore independently and our tour coordinator will be happy to offer suggestions. 

Day 7

Overnight: Vejer

Breakfast at hotel. We will depart by private bus for an expert-led field trip to the Roman ruins of Baelo Claudia in Bolonia. We will find many representative elements of a typical Roman city in these ruins, located near Tarifa and deserted ever since the 6th century.

Afterwards, at a local restaurant, we will enjoy a delicious set menu. After lunch, we will return to Vejer.

Day 8

Overnight: Seville

Breakfast at hotel. After check-out, we will be transferred by private bus to Seville. En route, we will stop in Jerez de la Frontera, the place where Spanish sherry originated. We will visit a winery. There, we will have the opportunity to taste regional flavors and learn all about this special blend from the hands of the winery’s own staff. Then, we will continue our transfer to Seville arriving approximately late in the morning.

After checking in at the hotel and settling into our rooms, we will have the afternoon for ourselves, to pack, explore or just relax. We will gather together again later at the hotel to have our farewell dinner.

Day 9

Breakfast at hotel. Transfer to the airport at a designated time.

Córdoba, the crossroads of civilizations and mainstay of Islamic and Jewish heritage in Spain. You will enjoy an expert-led exploration of the Great Mosque and Cathedral. Next, you will take a stroll through the Judería, which was once Córdoba’s Jewish Quarter, and visit one of the last-standing ancient synagogues in Spain. Then, you will enjoy some free time to explore.

Itálica

Discover the Roman ruins of Itálica, just outside Seville. This city was founded in 206 BC and was the birthplace of the emperors Trajano and Adriano. An expert will lead our walk through its ancient streets where we will discover well-preserved mosaics, the ancient major baths and its famous amphitheater, which was one of the locations of the Game of Thrones series.
