Day by Day

Day 1

Overnight: Seville

Arrival in Seville. Transfer to hostel and check-in on own. One member of Alandis staff will meet us at our accommodation and they will accompany us to Alandis Headquarters, a beautiful XIX century Andalusian house. The staff will greet everyone and we will take a walk with them to explore the area around the headquarters. During the walk, we will review the program schedule, emergency procedures, and answer questions. Then, we will enjoy a delicious welcome dinner at a local restaurant.

Day 2

Overnight: Seville
Breakfast on own. In the morning, we will meet a local expert who will accompany us for a fantastic walk around MªLuisa Park and Plaza de España. Mª Luisa Park is Seville’s main green area and it is part of the private gardens of the San Telmo Palace. Plaza de España was designed by the architect Aníbal González between 1918 and 1929 for the Ibero-American Exposition and it is also part of the park. After that, we will visit one of Seville’s most important culinary institutions, where we will have a tour of the premises accompanied by local staff, who will explain to us the history and functionings of the school, followed by a group lunch at the school’s restaurant. We will have the rest of the afternoon free to explore and then dinner on own.

Day 3

Overnight: Seville

Breakfast on own. In the morning, we will have conference led by a local expert on the topic “Andalucian Flavors and the Mediterranean Diet”. Then, Alandis staff will accompany us to Triana Market, one of the most important food markets of the city, where we will be able to appreciate local stands and products. There, we will have a hands-on cooking class led by a local chef. We will learn about and cook the most popular traditional Spanish dish: Paella. After enjoying the meal we cooked as a group lunch, we will have the afternoon free to explore Seville independently. Dinner on own.

Day 4

Overnight: Seville

Breakfast on own. In the morning, we will have conference led by a local expert on the topic “Understanding Seville’s Tapas Culture”. As part of the lecture, we will enjoy a tasting of ibéricos, including “jamón de bellota”. Afterwards, we will have a tapas tour in which we will discover the best of Seville’s tapas, and have a typical tapas lunch during the tour. Then, we will meet a local expert who will lead us inside the Cathedral, one of the world´s largest and most packed with historic treasures and art. Dinner on own.

Day 5

Overnight: Seville

Breakfast on own. In the morning, we will have a conference led by a local expert on the topic “A History of Olive Oil in Andalucía”. After that, we will depart by private bus to spend the rest of the morning visiting an Olive Oil Mill. An expert will give us a talk on the production of the golden liquid of Spain and we will have an olive oil tasting session. Then, we will return to Seville. Lunch on own and free afternoon. For dinner, we will meet up at Alandis Headquarters and go together to local families’ homes to enjoy a delicious traditional meal that they have previously cooked for us to experience the typical family meal atmosphere of Southern Spain.

Day 6

Overnight: Seville

Breakfast on own. Then, we will meet with a local expert who will accompany us to the extraordinary Alcazar Royal Palace and lead us throughout this UNESCO World Heritage Site. Next, we will walk around Seville’s oldest neighborhood and former Jewish quarter, the Barrio of Santa Cruz. After that, we will have a practical workshop in which we will learn how to make the best Andalusian tapas, followed by a lunch in which we will taste our own creations. We will have a free afternoon to explore independently or just relax. Dinner on own.

Day 7

Overnight: Seville

After breakfast on own, we will depart by private bus to Cadiz, and stop in Jerez de la Frontera, the place where Spanish sherry originated. We will visit a winery during which we will have the opportunity to taste regional flavors and learn all about this special blend from the hand of the winery’s own staff. After that, we will reach Cadiz to have lunch on own and in the afternoon, we will have a walking tour of the city’s historical center and beach, led by a local guide. After returning to Seville, dinner on own.

Day 8

Overnight: Seville

Breakfast on own. We will have the whole day free to explore, relax or pack. Lunch on own. Lastly, we will enjoy a delicious Farewell dinner at a local restaurant.

Day 9

Breakfast on own. End of program.

Then, your expert guide will lead you to a local “tablao” for a special flamenco music and dance show.

Day Trip to Córdoba

Córdoba, the crossroads of civilizations and mainstay of Islamic and Jewish heritage in Spain. You will enjoy an expert-led exploration of the Great Mosque and Cathedral. Next, you will take a stroll through the Judería, which was once Córdoba’s Jewish Quarter, and visit one of the last-standing ancient synagogues in Spain. Then, you will enjoy some free time to explore.
