Day by Day
Day 1
Overnight: Seville
The tour coordinator will greet everyone and we will review the program schedule, emergency procedures and answer questions. After orientation, we will set out with our tour coordinator to take a walk and explore the area around the hotel. At a restaurant, we´ll enjoy a welcome dinner with a delicious set menu.
Day 2
Overnight: Seville
After breakfast, we will walk to Alandis Travel headquarters, an 18th century old mansion, where we will be joined by a local expert on Spanish culture who will give us a presentation on the three cultures of Al-Andalus: Jewish, Christian, and Muslim. Afterwards, we will meet a local expert who will lead us inside one of the world´s largest Cathedral, enriched with historical treasures and art.
In the afternoon, we will depart for a walk with our tour coordinator to the extraordinary Alcazar Royal Palace where we will meet a local expert who will lead us throughout this UNESCO World Heritage Site. Next, we will walk around Seville’s oldest neighborhood and former Jewish quarter, the “Barrio of Santa Cruz”.
Day 3
Overnight: Seville
After breakfast, we will walk to Alandis Travel headquarters, where an expert will introduce us to Andalusian Cuisine. Then, we will walk to a local market where a gastronomic expert will show us the wide range of products available in Seville. Afterwards, we will enjoy a hands-on cooking class led by a local chef. We will learn about and cook the most popular traditional Spanish dish: Paella.
After enjoying the meal we cooked, we will have free time, and our tour coordinator will be happy to offer suggestions on how to spend it.
Day 4
Overnight: Seville
After breakfast, we will leave the hotel in a private bus to spend the morning visiting a working Olive Oil Mill. An expert will give us a lecture on the production of the golden liquid of Spain and we will have an oil tasting session. Then, we will return to Seville and have some free time.
In the afternoon, we will meet a local expert at the Alandis Travel headquarters, who will give us a presentation on the art of flamenco dance and music. Then, we will walk to a local “tablao” for a special flamenco music and dance show.
Day 5
Overnight: Cordova
Breakfast at hotel. After check-out, we will be transferred by private bus to Córdoba. On route, we will stop in a Montilla-Moriles winery, where we will be given the opportunity to taste the flavors of the region and learn from an expert about this special kind of wine. We will continue to Córdoba.
After checking in at the hotel and settling into our rooms, we will take some time to freshen up and relax before enjoying an expert-led walk through the Juderia, once Cordova´s Jewish Quarter, and visit one of the last-standing ancient synagogues in Spain.
Day 6
Overnight: Granada
Breakfast at hotel. Once checked out of the hotel, we will begin our transfer to Granada, but first we will join a local expert for a visit to the Great Mosque and Cathedral. We expect to arrive late in the morning. After checking in at the hotel and settling into our rooms, we will have lunch at a local restaurant.
In the afternoon, we will depart by bus to meet a local expert for a walk through the Albayzin, Granada’s oldest Arab district.
Day 7
Overnight: Granada
After breakfast, we will spend the morning at the magnificent Alhambra Palace and Generalife gardens with a local expert. The Alhambra is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the world’s most significant examples of Islamic art.
In the afternoon, we will walk with a local expert on a field trip to the Royal Chapel, the final resting place of King Ferdinand and Queen Isabella.
Day 8
Overnight: Granada
After breakfast, we will set out with a local expert for a day trip to the Alpujarras mountainous region outside Granada, the very last stronghold of the Moors before the Christian Reconquest. In the morning, we will visit an ecological farm and learn all about the products available in this peculiar region of Spain. For lunch, we will visit the white-washed village of Capileira and we will have a hearty mountain lunch at a local restaurant, followed by a local pastries tasting. We will return to Granada in the late afternoon.
Day 9
Breakfast at hotel. Transfer to the airport at a designated time.
