Day by Day

Day 1

Overnight: Barcelona

Arrival at Barcelona. Transfer to hotel. The tour coordinator will greet everyone and we will review the program schedule, emergency procedures and answer questions. After orientation, we will set out with our tour coordinator to take a walk and explore the area around the hotel. At a restaurant, we´ll enjoy a welcome dinner with a delicious set menu.

Day 2

Overnight: Barcelona

Breakfast at hotel. After breakfast, we will depart from the hotel by private bus and visit Antoni Gaudí´s masterwork, the enormous basilica known as La Sagrada Familia (The Sacred Family). Lunch on own. In the afternoon, we will meet with a local expert for a walk through the Gothic Quarter and visit treasures such as the Plaza Felipe Neri, the Roman Columns, and Plaza del Pi. Dinner on own

Day 3

Overnight: Madrid

Breakfast at hotel. We will be transferred to Barcelona train station, where we will take a train to Madrid. After being transferred to our hotel and checking in, lunch on own. In the afternoon, we will have a panoramic bus tour, in which we will be able to admire the beautiful landmarks of the capital. Dinner on own.

Day 4

Overnight: Madrid
Breakfast at hotel. After breakfast, we will depart from the hotel towards the Royal Palace where we will meet a local expert who will lead our visit through this marvelous building. Although it is no longer the Royal Family’s Home, it continues to be the site of official ceremonies and state events. Lunch on own. In the afternoon, we will meet with a local expert to visit The Prado National Museum, one of the world’s leading galleries with a superb collection from the 12th century to the early 19th century. Among the masterpieces are works by Bosch, El Greco, Goya, Raphael, Rubens, Titian, Van Eyck, Velázquez, and many more. The Prado has become a prized destination for art lovers. Dinner on own.

Day 5

Overnight: Porto

Breakfast at hotel. We will take a private bus, which will take us to Porto, one of the most important cities in Portugal. We will have lunch on own, on route. After arriving at the hotel, checking in and settling into our rooms, we will have a free afternoon to explore independently or just relax. Dinner on own.

Day 6

Overnight: Porto

Breakfast at hotel. In the morning, we will be delighted by a cruise along the Douro River from Oporto to Régua and return to Oporto by train. Sail through the city of Porto and contemplate the majestic scenery of Régua. We will board on a breathtaking cruise on the Douro River in the famous Invicta city. It is a unique and memorable experience to see what the Douro has to offer. Lunch served on board. After returning to Porto, we will meet a local expert who will accompany us in our walking tour of the city center. Dinner on own.

Day 7

Overnight: Lisbon

Breakfast at hotel. We will take a private bus to Lisbon. After checking in at the hotel, lunch on own. In the afternoon, we will have a tuk tuk ride led by a local expert through the main points of the historic center of the gorgeous city of fado. Then, we will visit San Jorge Castle, in the heart of the Alfama district. It served as a Muslim fortification and was later converted into a Royal Palace, witnessing historical events such as the reception of Vasco da Gama on his return from India. Dinner on own.

Day 8

Overnight: Lisbon

Breakfast at hotel. In the morning, we will participate in a hands-on cooking workshop where we will learn how to make Portugal’s most characteristic sweet, the pastel de nata (cream cake). Lunch on own. In the afternoon, we will have free time to explore or just relax. Dinner on own.

Day 9

Overnight: Seville

Breakfast at hotel. We will take a private bus to the beautiful city of Seville, symbol of the flamenco culture and the capital of the region of Andalusia. Lunch on own, on route. After arriving at our residence and checking in, we will meet with a local expert for a walk in MªLuisa Park and Plaza de España. Mª Luisa Park is Seville’s main green area and it is part of the private gardens of the San Telmo palace. Plaza de España was designed by the architect Aníbal González between 1918 and 1929 for the Ibero-American Exposition and it is also part of the park. Dinner on own.

Day 10

Overnight: Seville

Breakfast at residence. We will meet with a local expert who will lead us inside the Cathedral, one of the world´s largest and most packed with historic treasures and art. Lunch on own. Later, at Alandis headquarters, a local expert will lead us in a class in which we will learn the traditional dance of Seville, Sevillanas, a typical dance from Spain. Then we will walk to a local “tablao” for a special flamenco music and dance show. Finally, we will enjoy a delicious Farewell dinner at a local restaurant.

Day 11

Breakfast at residence. Private transfer to the airport at one designated time.

Itálica

Discover the Roman ruins of Itálica, just outside Seville. This city was founded in 206 BC and was the birthplace of the emperors Trajano and Adriano. An expert will lead our walk through its ancient streets where we will discover well-preserved mosaics, the ancient major baths and its famous amphitheater, which was one of the locations of the Game of Thrones series.

Royal Botanic Garden of Madrid

Enjoy the calmness of nature in the very heart of Madrid. An expert will introduce us to the knowledge of botanical science and guide us through more than two centuries of history, helping us to have a greater understanding of the garden.

Casa Museu Amatller

Discover this jewel of Catalan modernism, designed in 1900 and on which façade you will see the reinterpretation of different architectural styles. An expert will lead a guided visit to its interior where we will see the original furniture and decoration.
