Puerto Rico’s allure extends beyond the bustling streets of San Juan into the island’s lesser-explored western region. This exploratory voyage invites you on a captivating journey from east to west, unveiling a spectrum of cultural, historical, and natural treasures. Witness the modern-day pyramids of Aguada, reminiscent of Mayan and Incan architectural marvels, stroll through the charming city of Mayagüez, and stand atop the Cabo Rojo lighthouse for breathtaking vistas. Every step of this group tour is a photo opportunity waiting to be captured.

Itinerario Detallado

Día 1

Pernoctación: San Juan

The tour coordinator will welcome you and we will go over the program schedule, emergency procedures and answer any questions. After the orientation, we will explore the area around the hotel with our group leader. At a local restaurant, we will enjoy a delicious menu as a welcome dinner.

Día 2

Pernoctación: San Juan

Breakfast at hotel. We will depart by bus to the town of Cataño, where you will see the breathtaking view of the Bay of San Juan and El Morro Fort. From Cataño, we will take a ferry across the Bay of San Juan, where we will enjoy a  guided walking tour around San Juan, covering the major points of interest. We will walk to our cooking class, where we will learn how to prepare the famous Puerto Rican dish Mofongo, and there we will enjoy our own creation for lunch. Finally, after lunch, we will end our day with a visit to the El Morro Castle, the largest fortress built in the New World, where you will receive a guided tour of the castle. At the end of the trip, you’ll have the opportunity to return to the hotel or explore the area on your own. 

Día 3

Pernoctación: Mayagüez

Breakfast at hotel. We will depart early in our bus to the city of Mayagüez, located in the west of the island. Upon arrival, we will check in at the hotel and have free time for lunch on our own. Feel free to ask your tour coordinator for restaurant recommendations. At a designated time, we will meet at the hotel to go out to visit the Yagüez Theater and the cathedral. 

Día 4

Pernoctación: Mayagüez

Breakfast at hotel. We will take the bus to the nearby town of Aguadilla where we will discover its macromural, a mosaic along the coastline of Cerro Cabrera of Aguadilla consisting of 10 intermixed colors . We will continue our trip to the Pyramid of Aguada, a construction built by a local engineer and inspired by the Mayan and Inca cultures. After this, we will have lunch on our own and a chance to rest in the afternoon. We will go out together to enjoy a delicious dinner and after sunset, we will go to La Parguera, to enjoy the beautiful Bioluminescent Bay on a kayak tour.Breakfast at hotel. We

Día 5

Pernoctación: San Juan

Desayunaremos en el hotel, recogeremos nuestras pertenencias y saldremos en autobús hacia Cabo Rojo. Aquí, visitaremos el refugio de vida silvestre, 1,836 acres que proveen hábitat de refugio para varias especies de aves nativas en peligro de extinción, incluyendo especies únicas como la mariquita o capitán puertorriqueño. Después, visitaremos el faro, donde disfrutaremos de las impresionantes vistas de la costa. Antes de regresar, pararemos en Poblado para almorzar por nuestra cuenta y finalmente tomaremos la carretera hacia San Juan. Nos registraremos en el hotel y tendremos tiempo libre.

Día 6

Pernoctación: San Juan

Después de desayunar en el hotel, tomaremos nuestro autobús privado hacia el Museo de las Américas, donde disfrutaremos de sus cuatro exposiciones permanentes: Artes populares en América, La herencia africana, Los indígenas de América y Conquista y colonización: nacimiento y evolución de la nación puertorriqueña. Tras esta visita, partiremos hacia Casa Blanca, la casa de Ponce de León. Situada en el Viejo San Juan y fundada en 1521, este museo está considerado como la estructura más antigua de Puerto Rico, conservando auténticos detalles de la época. Almorzaremos juntos con un delicioso menú fijo. A continuación, iremos a la Galería de Arte Casa Cortés y probaremos su famoso chocolate mientras aprendemos sobre su historia.

Día 7

Pernoctación: San Juan

Breakfast at hotel. The bus will be waiting for us to depart for Arecibo to visit the city. Then we will continue to Utuado, where the Caguana Ceremonial Center is located. It is the most important restored archaeological site in Puerto Rico. We will learn about its history and see the ten bateyes surrounded by a variety of stones with petroglyphs. We will enjoy a group lunch and after this, we will return to San Juan. In the late afternoon we will gather for our farewell dinner at a local restaurant.

Día 8

Desayuno en el Hotel. Traslado al aeropuerto a la hora indicada.

Navegar por el Norte de PR (Excursión de un día)

Esta ruta nos llevará a la región norte de Puerto Rico, donde navegaremos por los pueblos de Arecibo, Vega Alta y Vega Baja. Nuestra primera parada será en las hermosas cascadas del Río Tanama en Arecibo, donde te sumergirás en la naturaleza en una de las cascadas más llamativas de la isla. Esta excursión de semi-aventura incluye una corta caminata a lo largo del río hasta uno de los tesoros ocultos de Puerto Rico: Playa Vega Baja en el pintoresco pueblo de Vega Baja. Esta inmensa y remota playa es perfecta para aquellos que deseen practicar la escalada o simplemente disfrutar de las vistas naturales, lejos de las multitudes de la ciudad y de otros turistas. Por último, pero no menos importante, visitaremos El Manantial de Tortuguero, una encantadora piscina natural rodeada de prístinos y frondosos paisajes y de los cantos de las especies de aves locales. Esta excursión dura entre 5 y 6 horas, incluyendo el tiempo de viaje.
